Also, why is it okay to raise an animal in an open field and kill it, but it's not okay to raise it in a pen and kill it? Vegetables are the answer.

Why is it ok to grow a vegetable and kill it?
FRUIT is the answer!

Who says it is not OK to raise an animal in a pen and kill it for food?
You gave vegetables as the answer so I will give the question.
Question - What makes a good side dish when eating a big juicy steak?
Answer - vegetables.
Vegetables are ALIVE when you eat them. You are eating something while it's still living. You sick, sick, sunamab1tch!
Why not feed the veterinarians to the wild beasts of the land?
idk...ask the lions who kill antelopes
Yes, and they're yummy too!
Every animal dies.
What makes you think that these animals would be better off dying of starvation, disease or being killed by non-human animals?
Yes, it is ok to eat meat... try it sometime, you'll like it:)

That's the way I always heard it should be... you want to eat me..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KoSqvrVuMsOk, by the logic that a "every animal dies" would it be ok to raise and slaughter people for meat since they would die eventually anyway?
That was a poor argument
Secondly, the meat industry is the single greatest source of greenhouse emissions (more than all motor vehicles combined).
Third, humans do not require meat to survive- it's an inhumane, environmentally damaging AND unhealthy addition to humanity.
Prediction: in 50 years, meat eating will be a thing of the past. Much like slavery was once considered the norm, but is not largely viewed as morally corrupt.

+1. This.
Agreed. Slavery was once accepted by most Americans, much like meat eating is accepted by most Americans today. It is easy for people to brain wash themselves into thinking that meat eating is harmless if most people are doing it.
Eventually, when the majority is vegetarian, meat eaters will feel alienated and realize that the meat industry is nothing but a cruel and enrvironmentally catastrophic part of society.
It is an economic issue more than a moral or health issue. Welfare ranchers and chicken farmers kick back some of their handouts to republican politicians. The republican politicians use the bribes to pay for hookers and Rolexes. The republican politicians ain't gonna give up their hookers and Rolexes. It is not mericun to eat salad; all your money needs to go to supporting welfare ranchers and bribe taking republican politicians.
t-bone tonight
thanks for the idea

Wow, your logical thinking capacity appears to be zero.
My original argument was not only very NOT poor. It was in fact unassailable. Thus your feeble-minded attempt when no rational counter-argument exists.
I know that this is a difficult concept for someone like yourself with a very limited cranial capacity but (NEWSFLASH!) there is a difference between what is appropriate in dealing with humans as compared to non-human species.
Still having trouble with basic logic? Next time a mosquito buzzes in your ear while you are trying to get some sleep be sure to try to gently persuade it to cease and desist. Heaven forbid that you might squash it - I KNOW you would never think of such a thing. After all, do you kill people whenever they are annoying to you?
TRY TO THINK. REALLY, REALLY, IT IS NOT THAT HARD.
