I wonder if all those scientists in the 70's were right, and we really are on the brink of the next ice age.

Lol. The global warming alarmists are flat earth earth scientists of today. In the Middle Ages everyone pretty much agreed the earth was flat and were ridiculed for not believing it. Same deal with Galileo and saying the earth revolved around the run, he was even thrown in prison for it.
Never be afraid to think outside the box or see through a hoax. At the least, be on the right side of history. Don't be seen as a flat earther in 100 years in the history books.

This is completely false.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myth_of_the_Flat_Earth"The Japan Meteorological Agency said June 2014 was the warmest June globally since at least 1891, when its dataset begins. This follows May 2014, which was the warmest May globally on record, which follows April 2014, which was the warmest April globally on record."
But yeah, let's use Kansas City as our only reference point.
International Falls, MN also set a record low yesterday (39F). Brimson, MN was 35F (not a record, but still plenty cold). I think this global warming chatter is nonsense.

What part of "global" don't you understand?
this is a result of a "polar vortex-like" weather pattern. Nothing really out of the ordinary. These strange weather patterns may increase due to global warming though
If it's "global" warming, that means everywhere. Obviously, it's not warming everywhere. It's a complete farce, considering it's winter now in the southern hemisphere.

Not one scientist has ever provided proof that global warming is causing "strange weather" or that it is increasing.
I'm in Kansas City and I'm loving this cold spell. Keep them coming!
The signal, not the noise, folks. Just because it was colder-than-who-can-remember in the place you live, doesn't mean there isn't a warming pattern.

What? So it should be summer everywhere?
What if the northern hemisphere has an above average summer while the south has an above average winter?
Well, we had 4 days last week with highs of 90, 93, 94, and 94, so maybe the fundamentalist fanatics at the International House of Prayer was praying really hard this weekend for the evil liberal global warming agenda to end.

Please tell me I am just poor at picking up your sarcasm.
On the east coast, we have had a cool summer, a frigid winter, and so far another moderate summer punctuated by the current epic cool couple of days. I can't recall many July mornings as cool as this morning.
This is not a day here or there. The east coast has been cool-ish for going on 18 months.
When are you going to stop saying it's climate change not weather change, or that my neighborhood is not the globe, or whatever other warmer-logic catch phrase is popular?
My point is that global warming is a farce. Until it actually gets warmer during winter (regardless of which hemisphere is being studied), global warming will continue to be a lie. It's simply a way for Democrats to grow government control and generate more revenue.
Here's what I don't get: Americans generally defer to experts. Our media embraces "expert opinion" and it shows up in all sorts of marketing copy.
Why is climate science any different?
Do you skeptic plonkers have any idea what percent of climate experts believe human-driven change is underfoot? A HUGE percent. Like 99%. Theirs is not a knee-jerk assessment. They don't go outside and say: "Well, gee, it seems like its been 18 months of cool weather, etc. etc. etc..."
Does it occur to the deniers that there may be more sophisticated considerations and analytic tools that factor into these scientific determinations than just gut checks and politically motivated common-sense judgments?
Oh, right, I forgot -- every climate scientist is at the behest of Obama, Bill Ayers, and the rest.

So...you want us to consider the Earth's temps over the last 125 years? Are you serious? When the Earth is 4.6 BILLION years and you want us to look at the last 125 years? Seriously?

Um..It is warmer in the winter. The whole globe. Not just one hemisphere.
Also, how is it a Democrat power grab when other countries are involved? I've never understood that one.

I'd love to hear you give that answer to a question in a job or college interview, you know, a situation where people judge your intellectual capacity and psychological well-being.
