I'm a huge running fan but this was my first proper meet I've attended. Overall I found the meet quite boring. Also, too many events going on at once. You don't know where to look half the time. The crowd seemed more interested in the field events. I felt like I was the only one around me watching the track at times. It was strange. I think they really need announcers that actually commentate to draw the attention to the track events. I would've rather watched it on TV given that you get splits and know what pace they are on.
Other observations:
- Ashmeade justifiable complained about his DQ. The crowd behind the start line wouldn't shut up at the start.
- No leader boards for the field events makes it hard to follow. Also, no idea what what jump/throw they were up to, who was winning, what the second place guy need to jump/throw to win (therefore no drama).
- Women's steeples (and hurdles for that matter) are tiny. It's ridiculous. It looks like you could just step over the women's steeples. I saw them changing the heights between the men's 110mH and women's 100mH. The amount it goes down is absurd.
