How can we do it?
How can we do it?
you can't. Move on. Stupid post.
Anything is possible! Either it needs to be removed or fixed. Any suggestions?
*replaced* or fixed
It can't be fixed, not with that personnel. It needs to be replaced. If the USOC saw the need to do it, it could happen.
why does it need to be replaced?
What would move the USOC? Aren't they also encouraged by Nike to keep things the way they are?
Usatf needs to be replaced because it has become a governance that doesn't look after its athletes. It poorly runs the USATF championship year after year, it doesn't investigate better ways of generating revenue, or spreading awareness of the sport. It is a self elected blasphemy of track and field. What USATF does wrong is the worst thing it could do wrong. It caters to some, while showing indifference to others. I came from a track team where everyone worked to earn their spot. The idea of favoritism at the national level is disgusting.
When there are preliminary rounds to a championship race the lanes should be filled. But USATF will leave the lanes open if there are scratches. Why? Because they don't care about those athletes who flew 3 hours to run in the championship and met the qualifying standard. They only care about a select group and they will throw disqualifications to protect them.
And the people scratching last minute are also the same people they are protecting!
Dude, all a myth. You're delusional. Many of the governence was put forth or created BY the athletes and the others by the volunteers. Who do you think "USATF" is? A group of people in Indi? You, my friend, are USATF.
You want change? Then do like many of us other athletes and come to the annual meeting and learn how things works. Then make changes. Don't come to a forum of other whining babies to get a virtual hand-job. Learn about the sports governence and policies and then do something about it. Vote against something or for something.
There were no myths. Lanes have been open at the USATF Championship when there are scratches and athletes kept out who could fill them.
And obviously there are the DQs everyone knows about, and their unprofessional handling.
So even if your join-the-USATF-attitude is the solution, which I doubt, your "dude total myth" attitude is not honest.
Im not the USATF. Im not a pigeon for Nike. But you are it sounds like.
Joining the USATF means accepting there is one sponsor that encourages some DQs but is indifferent to others. Joining the USATF means accepting low standards for the management of our nation's highest meet. It would also mean having officials that are first and foremost devoted to what the one sponsor wants.
It would be far more advantageous for the athletes to find a different organization to run things. Not one that chooses one company, and that one company fills the staff of. A governance with multiple sponsors and the common interest of providing the most fair and beneficial system for every track and field athlete or spectator. USATF isn't that. And they've proven it by how they mishandle the national meet.
Where is the "like" button here? The USATF has told me to to my face that "athletes aren't important. We do what we do."No one in the professional world doubts this shouldn't be changed.Go ahead and think the USATF if your friend.....
This cracks me up. You are delusional. And you're anti-Nike BS does nothing. You can't change it. It doesn't need to be changed. You're just a one who thinks there is a conspiracy when there IS NOT ONE.
USATF never told anyone athletes aren't important. That is a big lie and someone looking to get attention. LOSER!! COMPLETE LOSER.
I'm not anti Nike. Nike's a great company that supports some of the most inspirational runners. I'm against fake DQs. I'm against mismanagement of the highest meet in our country. I'm anti one company stacking the USATF full of their own supporters so the two can elect each other, and not do their real job. Which is to make track and field thrive in the USA and make it an even playing field for whoever meets the standards to compete.
GreekGodmon you're deflecting. Do you think it's a good policy to leave lanes open when athletes scratch, and there are others who flew from far away waiting to fill them?
Do you think it's reasonable for an officiating crew to give preferential treatment to some while withholding it from others in a sport like track and field?

No, I think it's crazy. I also think it's crazy when the men's chair adds 5 or more people in the 10k who have no business being in there. A lapped athlete at a major championship is a disgrace.
I'm saying it's the volunteers that make up USATF that are the problem. Not "USATF" as this thread suggests. I'm saying the volunteers and many of the athletes are creating the issues. Not NIKE!
Look who goes after Nike. Most are athletes that were dropped when they started to perform poorly. The same people leading the anti nike rants are the same people that suck on the Nike's money nipple when they have an opportunity. You all know it but find it easier to bitch with the masses then actually look at the problems.
I believe USATF is moving in the wrong direction and the only thing holding it back are the athletes, and not even the good athletes, and the volunteers. It's not USATF staff and certainly not Nike.
