Salazar has only done that with one or two guys. It's not like he's got some big lead over Derrick's group. Isnt Teg in that group? I'd argue that Teg's near 3rd in the world champs is on par with anything Rupp has done when adjusting for competition.
In the past two years Salazar has had three guys medal. Centro in the 1500, Farah in the 5k and 10k as well as Rupp in the 10k. Jerry has yet to come anywhere close to this. To add on to that Derrick does not posses the closing speed to win at the highest level and Jerry seems to do little to develop his athlete's kicking ability.[/quote]
What does 'close' mean to you? I think most people would consider 2 and 0 to be close.
And if you'd bothered to read what I posted then you'd see that Jerry has done almost as well as Salazar. Teg's 4th is on par with Rupp's silver. I'm not that familiar with the rest of Jerry's roster so I'll give you that he doesn't have a equivalent for Centro.
Farah was already a sub 13 guy and in the mix in finals before Salazar so he shouldn't count. When you look at Farah's results now compared to a few years ago you'll see that he hasn't improved as much as he's lost competition.
