For me it was the inability of he africans to push the pace or even throw in a surge at any point of the race
I was also surprised by Jeilan as he was struggling to break 13:10 a few weeks ago and now finishes second.

Not surprised the Africans chickened out since they do that every time (lately). They are like Tiger Woods now...they should be confident, and they should be aggressive, but something is lacking inside.
Jeilan re-established himself in this race and showed the 2011 WC was not a fluke. I thought he was going to get Mo again.
Rupp may have been the biggest surprise. He's been slightly off since indoors, not looking like a medal threat. Today, he ran like a medal threat and finished just short. Salazar really knows how to prepare those guys for the meets that count.
For me, it is the rumor that Mo Farah, if he also claims the Men's 5000m gold in Moscow, will change his name to "Moscow Farah."
no surprises really. Bio passports effective. that's why
you see subpar times and performance over the spectrum of runners.
anti-doping is slowing the africans
mo is doping
but the africans cant set a fast enough pace cos of anti-doping
they can do a fast TT when anti-dopings away
like bekele will prob do later this year when hermens oversees security for him
Mo Ahmed.
Gebremeskel bombing hard has got to be the biggest surprise.
Why is Jeilan a surprise? He's the ONE guy the Ethiopians have that can out kick Farah. Two years ago before the WC he ran 13:09. The only question was whether he was 100%.
When I saw Rupp on the starting line I thought; "that dude looks like he's got a fever". Must have been sponging himself just prior, but I've never seen that on a starting line before. Ideas?
Yes Rupp ran a great race. He has not been on his "A" game this year. Mo Ahmed had a good race. Leavins was surprising after looking bad earlier in the year. Ritz ran well.

this.
Tanui, he actually tried to make it honest. And yea he lost to Farah but he beats Mo Fo any day in a time trial.
I was shocked at how bad Derrick did.
Ritz attacking with a kilo left. I did not expect that at all.
ya
tanui was the star
mo got the confidence cos of his superdope
he knows he can't be beat
he was fakin the effort so people don get suspicious

Schumacher.
Honestly I was most surprised when Mo Ahmed was in the top 5 with a lap to go. He struggled to stay there but what an amazing performance by him
I was surprised by the slow time.
Cam Levins' new haircut ;-(
Definitely Gebremeskel's inability to even stick in it for more than 5 miles.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
