it doesn't matter if gatlin is still doping or not. steroids will provide a benefit that will last a lifetime as long as the individual continues to train. what he gained while on steroids will never go away. he should be banned for life. there is a reason he is running just as fast clean as he was dirty.
with that said, I have faith he is no longer doping, but I would never call him clean. he has a great attitude and I respect that. he truly loves track and field and he is well aware of what some people say about him even to today. I admire his ability to keep his head up while people try to shut him down. unfortunately I will never root for gatlin. I do not want to see him get a medal. his medal at the olympics in some way made it seem OK to take steroids. if you want to start cleaning up the sport, institute lifetime bans for hormones. gatlin's success shows a similar picture to use of ped's in baseball, the risk is worth the reward.
