Rowbury is going to win the 1500m at USA's
Wariner just entered the 800m.
interesting......how you know?
Abby VS Jenny B .....who you got?
Christina Cazzola 4:16.44 accepted declared
Jennifer Simpson New Balance 4:02.30 qualified scratched
Greta Feldman Princeton University 4:12.29 qualified scratched
Heather Kampf Asics / Team USA Minnesota 4:14.03 provisional scratched
Lauren Hagans 4:17.00 not qualified
pushes in Christina Cazzola in the 1500....isn't she the DIII runner with children....if so....good for her
Jenny vs Abby vs Molly
Remember that Jenny has a free pass as a WC. All she has to do is run in one event to show fitness.
And with no Brenda and no Jenny, don't be surprised if "little Mary Cain" (a la Decker) wins the 1500.
I think the 800 would be better as it would take a fast kick to win the 1500.
But then again, the 5000 would help her get through rounds maybe?
coach...you mean in the 1500 a free pass?...explain please
She won the 1500 at the last wc's, so she gets in automatically and the USA gets 3 people in addition to her in that event.
I think.
nope, it's because she asked them really nicely
In a sense, this is a good thing for the 1500 field since it means they are acutally running for top-3, not top-3 non defending WC Champ. as for her being in the 5000, How does the schedule line up for doubling at worlds?

Simpson.
This will make the 5000 worth watching.
When I first saw this thread, with it being late at night, I momentarily forgot about the WC bye and thought, "Let me think about this. Can she medal in the 5000?"
I think it's great though for Simpson as you have to be fit to run well even at 1500. Running the 800 for her is a waste of time. Doing the 5000. She can keep getting fitter.
I agree, this is a good choice. Knowing Wetmore's strength-based training and how good she was at 5000 back in '09, I think she's a clear favorite. I'd love to see her take a stab at the AR next summer with there being no Worlds. Heck, even this summer if she gets into a fast Diamond League 5000 I wouldn't be surprised to see her down towards 14:40.
I think after Huddle and D'Agostino it's pretty open for the third team spot, assuming Simpson intends to focus on the 1500.
The forecast calls for temps in the high 80s for the women's 5.
Seems like everyone always forgets that she qualified for the Olympics in the steeple. Why did she ever give that up? Injuries?

(since no one else has responded)
After checking the schedules, it seems as if the 5000 heats are sandwiched between the 1500 semis and finals. It seems like this will not be a smart double to pull off, especially when the East Africans will make the heats 15:20 pace or possibly faster. Speaking of which, I could easily see Genzebe Dibaba struggling to pull it off as well.

Not only did she qualify, but she had a top ten finish in the finals, setting an American record in the process. In 2009 she finished 6th at worlds, smashing her own American record.
Following 2009 she said she wanted to find out what her best event was; she thought that she wasn't close enough to the world's best steeplers, but she believed if she found her best event, she could win a medal.
Considering she was second at the 2009 Pre in 3:59, she went with 1500m for 2011. Everyone thought she was a bit nuts. Surely she could be a medalist in the steeple.
Then she won world gold.
This move has been the biggest no-brainer in track for about five years. The only question is why he didn't see it sooner, although I understand from sources close to JW he simply felt that he had unfinished business at 400m. Prepare to see national and WR books rewritten. Dude can basically JOG 51 and come back the same for another lap, maybe even with a slight kick!!!

Defending champ gets in automatically.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
