The excuses begin? They've been saying this about Farah for the past week. A viral infection is a fine reason. Farah is a champion and he has no need to make BS excuses, if he says he has a virus I believe him.
Exactly they have been setting up this excuse for weeks to seed the public with low expectations.

This was fairly predictable...flying to the UK and back, from the west coast, to run a 10k race and then come back...tough on the body. I'm actually surprised he threatened for the win.
Dosage must be off today.
Second in a world-class field. It's time for him to hang up his spikes.
Soi cut in super fast with a little less than 200 to go and be stumbled and lost momentum which I think might have cost him.
Anyone else amazed by how Farah's turnover does not appear to increase in frequency (relative to others') when kicking? The guy is super smooth and efficient.
That's not a good sign. He would be better off increasing stride rate than stride length.

Those excuses better be set to cover him for the WCs, on all available evidence there is no one who can beat Hagos Geb in the 5000m.
People here must have never been sick before. You get sick and can't run as well. Its called life and it happens

In Farah's Friday night interview he said the virus came right after Oxy. Two weeks and a decrease in quality training/recovery/body responsiveness makes sense.
given what happened this weekend, I think Kenenisa will have a tough time beating a healthy Mo Farah.
Also, I am not convinced that Rupp is near his peak right now so he will be an unknown once worlds comes around. Its very hard being on near peak less than 4 months after running career bests for 1500 and 3000 while looking to peak even further in another 2 months.
if Rupp does not contend this summer, Salazar might need to take a look into his 2 peak a year approach

Tell that to rudisha.
Hagos Geb is unbeatable (barring accidents) over 5000m.
Preciate that runmaster; some folks just don't get it.
Neither of them has to peak for another 10 weeks.
OK, the virus was so bad that he flew to England, won a 10K road race, collected his appearance fee, returns to the US, and the virus comes back? How naïve are you?
What race were you watching? There wasn't any "super fast cut in" which caused Farah to stumble and lose his momentum. Soi passed him and pulled away in the stretch. Farah just got beat.
idn't he a little bit annoying
he move to the front
slow it down
anyone try to pass
he speed it up
cynical
just like his hunt for $$$$$$$
wudn surprise me if he a doper but who knows
im not callin it or anything
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
