I had an overly athletic gym class my junior year of high school including 1) two all state soccer players, 2) a first team all-american tight end in football 3) all-conference basketball point guard, 4) #7 in state tennis, 5) third place finisher in golf and me, a semi-decorated runner at the state level. On the girls side was the co-national player of the year in soccer plus more athletes not pertinent to this post.
I got my butt kicked in every unit we did except the floor hockey unit and pull up fitness test. Basketball was a joke (I am not that bad). The vertical and horizontal fitness tests were embarrassing for me. Weightlifting was just depressing.
When it came to do the gym class mile at the end of the year I flexed the muscles a little bit. I went 4:43 in my Asics Gel DS Lytes. The soccer players went 5:07 and 5:09 respectively. Little miss co-national player of the year went 5:32 in her trainers which was better than all but one varsity track girl in spikes!
Has anyone ever put something down or had unexpected competition in they're gym class?
