Wow. Was this solo from the gun or where there rabitts?

Even if they put someone through 3000 at 8:05 (which I doubt) that is still incredible.

He led every step of the way. 64 at the 400, then started picking it up: 4:14 1600, 7:59 3km. He looked like he was starting to hurt a little the last 1km, but was smiling and waving at the finish.

Looks like Edward Taragon, who is Kithuka's former teammate at Wayland and capable of at least 13:40 Dnfed. Could he have been pacing his friend?

slow for a kenyan, but he won by 1 minute! this is the guy who won ncaa xc quite soundly against stephen sambu, a 13:13 5k runner, and lawi lalang, who ran 13:08 last year. kithuka might be the first ncaa runner under 13, if lalang doesn't beat him to it.
