Just listen to yourself.
Here's another.
If Bolt runs a 5.12 50 and a 9.24 100, I think he will run a faster 200.

I'm curious to see if anyone has any speculation on how Mo would have done in this race
If his recent 3 by mile workout was accurate then it seems like is not training toward the mile but more like a 5000 man and as was stated that probably wasnt even the full workout. He is likely training asa 5000 10000 man who isnt afraid to go fast.
Was this 1600 or full mile?
Centrowitz just went to Walmart to buy new underwear, after "soiling" the ones that he was wearing.

Full.
Mo is focusing on the longer stuff in preparation for the New Orleans half-marathon next month. He also recently said that Rupp is a couple months ahead of him in training and would probably win head-to-head. So I guess the answer to your question would be "not very well".

What's your PB, hater.
Do you disagree with him? If so, why? Do you disagree that the mile is a rarely contested event, even more rare indoors, by the best 1500m runners in the world?

Faster, as in, faster than where ventolin projected him, genius. Go back and look. LOL^2
Did that REALLY need clarification? Geez.
The 3:33.7 conversion would rank Rupp 10th. Incidentally, Lagat's 3:33.34 was run during his mile AR.

webb ran the fastest american mile outdoors in april, 3:51. rupp's run faster indoors in january, but there are naysayers??? he should go well under 7:30, maybe 7:27, and mid to low 12:40s/26:27 this year, plus maybe a 3:47-8 mile if he goes after it.
rupp now has laid down some of our (vertonin, salazar, cannova, lj, other people that know the sport) best case time scenarios - made several years ago. when he was a 1308 barely sub 4 guy.
the predictions came from times in workouts and splits before he fell, 2 mile races, ways he won them.... and comparing those results to the times other guys ran in the past.
a similar guy that comes to mind is moorcroft.
now moorcroft is much more the proven miler, however rupp came up thru distance running rather than middle distance.
salazar put in the speed work component and you started to see a similar athlete. moorcroft could not take the volume that limited him for longevity at 5k and 10k was definitely out of the equation.
once rupp hit 149 800m indoors and salazar started reporting about 11.0 100m with running starts, and the ncaa blow away finishes, and the sub 13 pace 5k races he fell in. it all amouted to moorcroft like ability.
you recall moorcroft ran 349 mile, 732 3k and 13 flat 5k.
the 5k equates really to a hoover race of 12:50 or even a bit less.
now galen has the top end speed of moorcroft and the silver medal 10k ability.
that combines for a 12:45 5k - given the right race - given 12 weeks of good work - and good health.
no doubt about it.
good work al-sal and rupp. beautiful.
but i put a ceiling at 12:40 low now - i don't belive anyone has beaten this mark without a BIG EPO program.

If you have to ask this question, you need to educate yourself a little first.
it doesn't quite work like that
i reckon rupp has similar ability at 10k now to guys like dinkessa/koech/hissou but much better speed ( he is similar to kembo who canova, his coach, said had great speed ) but still inferior endurance ( still not same mileage as mo yet )
that's why he coud expect 7'23 & 12'42 off a ~ 26'30 but not the near 26'20s
guy like dinkessa woud possibly have had a line that day of 26'30 of ~
53.0 / 1'50.5 ->
3'34.9
3'51.5
7'26.6
12'45.0
26'26.3
rupp has far better basic 400 speed which jack up those 1500/3k/5k
from canova
http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=4203011&page=2that's why talk of rupp having 50s speed is nonsense
he's "evolved" into an african like those above but still does have tad better 400 speed than most, but not by too much, but enough to look at 7'23/12'42
these guys have incredibly little speed decay over the entire spectrum. Is it genetics???
I'm pretty sure rupp has ended workouts with 50 second 400s.

Coghlan was a head case who had it stuck in his brain that he was the king of indoors. His outdoor racing strategies left much to be desired.
I didn't want to leave this post out there without commenting that Coghlan won a World Championship Gold medal - outdoors.
Why do people always have the urge to take someone down a peg?
And there can be nothing negative said about what Rupp just did.
3:50 is good any time, any place.
Indoors, outdoors
January, July
Even downhill it's pretty good.
This is faster than Jim Ryun ever ran.
Now we need to see our actual milers run that fast.
