IMO Cain will sign with an east coast school and Baxter will be at a Pac-12 school. But she will not choose Oregon or Stanford.
I think Cain will choose oregon or stanford if she is still in communications with Salazar. I see Baxter choosing Colorado under Wetmore I can tell Wetmore could do alot alot with Baxter.
I see Cain at Stanford or Princeton and Baxter at Stanford or Colorado.
Cain seems wealthy - but still hard to see the family paying $250,000 to go to an Ivy, plus she will outclass the competition her first year. Stanford would give her a free ride and at least has the pac 10 or 12 or whatever to keep her interested. But hard for status minded Bronxville families to turn down a top tier Ivy.
Baxter is an aerobic animal - she should absolutely seek out Wetmore.
interesting views on class on display here - just by listening and looking at her you can tell Cain is rich. Just by looking and listening to Baxter you can tell she is middle/upper middle class.
I may be wrong on one or both of these - actually I hope I am - but that's my call and I'm sticking to it.
I say they are both coming to the University of Maryland. Fear the turtle, snitches!

I read that both Sarah B's parents are cops... I'd say that's middle C. I think they will both go to Oregon. I hope Mary Cain doesn't choose Stanford, it seems like they recruit all these elite runners and most of them never live up to expectations.
I'd wager that Cain will bypass NCAA competition, and Baxter will end up at Colorado. The latter is of course just a wild guess but I think Baxter would dominate at the collegiate level under Wetmore.
I have no idea what Cain's parents want for her so it's hard to say in her case. Who says she even has to compete in college (like HS)? As for her financial situation I make no judgements. I'm glad to hear she doesn't speak like a native.
Baxter like most WC kids would seem to have her choice of quality PAC-10 schools.

olympian > ivy
I would have guessed Princeton 2 yrs ago for Cain, but they have been blazing their own trail these days so maybe not. Dr. Cain is on the school board and a Regis HS grad. Obviously taking his daughter's education seriously, but probably not above a free one.
From TFRRS, the total number of NCAA females that ran faster outdoors last season than Cain in the 1500:
ONE
Mary Cain doesn't belong there. She could clearly do what Allyson Felix did, turn pro and go to either Columbia or Yale right in her neighborhood.
Regarding Baxter, I strongly agree with others that Baxter belongs with Wetmore.
Wow didn't even realize Colorado had a track team lol

You might have noticed the two girls wearing CU uniforms making the Olympic team this past summer...
Also Cain will go to Oregon. She is coached by Salazar. It will not be a choice.

Pac12fan, you are going to end up with a restraining order with all these Baxter posts. Just relax and enjoy the team we have now.
If they were smart they would both go to Colorado and run 14:40 before they graduate.
The comment about Stanford not producing no longer applies. That was during the Jason Dunn years when they were incapable of peaking correctly. They have Chris Miltenberg now. Coach Miltenberg has proven to be one of the best coaches the NCAA has to offer. If he can win nationals at Georgetown he can certainly do the same with Stanford's talent. They may win multiple National Championships over the next 5-10 years. Not only that, in his short career he has proven to be great with long term development. Liz Malloy, Emily Infeld, Maggie Infeld, Rene Tomlin are all former Hoyas running post collegiality, and they ALL made the finals of their events at the Olympic trials.
However, neither of these girls will end up there. I heard through the grapevine that Baxter is VERY interested in Oregon. I do think Colorado would be the best place for her though. Washington is also a strong possibility. Another Simi Valley girl, Liberty Miller, is in the Husky top 7 now. I think it will undoubtedly come down to Oregon, Colorado, Washington for Baxter. If Cain decides to run in the NCAA, I don't see her going anywhere but Oregon with the whole Salazar affiliation.
Cain is turning pro from what I am hearing. Salazar coaching her now and giving her Nike's special benefits would make it impossible for her to attend Oregon. He is a booster obviously and has former role as volunteer coach on the staff. Salazar's long term plan for her is not to run in the NCAA but to be pro so as by-passing the whole NCAA system.
I say less than 2% chance that both go there.
I hope they both visit Oregon for the NCAA Championships this year in Eugene :)She the women take the title and the Men finish in the top 5 or so.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
