Crouser along with this new girl that Oregon signed yesterday will both be doing the Hept. at Oregon next year.
This questioning of the "character and drive" of Scott Carpenter in the FL Northeast race is unfounded and needs closure. The photos of the race do not remotely detail the injuries Scott received.
I have personally "mentored & run with" Scott for over 3 years. His focus, commitment to improving, and racing drive is second to no other runner I have ever met in my 43 years of distance running. This young man has the mental drive that will take him far in the future and his physical capacities far exceed what he has yet accomplished.I have to think Georgetown does know how lucky they are.
I was at this race with Scott and his family and want to add that the race medical tent took over a half hour to clean and care for his multiple cuts and abrasions. His injuries were to both knees, his right hip, his right shoulder, a severe right hand cut , and yes a head cut which included swelling. I also want to add in the six years of watching Scott run (7th through 12th grades) I have never seen, or aware of him ever falling in any other race.
To the posters who have never met Scott and have questioned this racing accident along with this young runner personally...shame on you. If you still think your commits were fair I compel you to follow this young runner's accomplishments at Georgetown and get back to this message board more knowledgable insights.

Sibby Hanson to NC State. Great class there
Cheserek is at NAU right now. Saw it on his FB last night.
Anybody know what schools the top Canadians are headed to? In particular Jeremy Coughler who's run 8:20 3k, sub 5:50 2k steeple and Ben Flangan? 8:24 guy who's an absolute monster at XC. Couple other pretty good kids in Canada headed to the states but these are the top ones.
Coughler looks likely to end up at OSU (oklahoma).
Any idea where the Canadian girls are headed?
Any word on Mick's 2013 class? I would imagine he will need to pick up 1 or 2 5th year guys from the Ivies.

Diego Estrada also posted going on a run with him, Cam Levins, and Brian Shrader I believe. Apperantly Cheserek is doing his official college visit.
Cheserek has narrowed his final 5 choices to NAU, Arizona, Oregon, Portland, and Villanova. Whichever school he chooses will be a lucky program and Cheserek will also be lucky to end up in one of these programs. They all are great and offer unique advantages.
what school has the top classes as a whole right now as everything starts to shape up?
Joe Sansone of Southlake Carroll to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
if rumors of Leinang, Montoya, and Cheserek, then its over.
Depth looks like possibly Columbia or NC State with verbal commitments.
