The course is at least 10 seconds short. Maybe 15, depending how slow you are.
Fredonia was about 15 seconds fast I thought

Is this someone trolling, or are we just going to pretend that the NJAC course was legit this weekend and TCNJ is actually a contender?
Gallagher the 3rd individual, and two TCNJ guys and Swenig from Rowan in the top 15? Come on!?!?!
other than the top 3 or 4, the rest of the field ran about on par with their PRs

Let's look at TCNJ's top guys from this weekend, and their previous few "big" races:
1. GALLAGHER
NJAC 25:13
Lafaytte (10/13) - 26:38
Lehigh (9/28) - 26:22 *behind 3 Cortland runners, Bickell, and Levitz from RPI
Pre-Reg (9/15) - 26:06 *behind 3 Cortland and 3 UR runners
2. TASCO
NJAC 25:29
Lafaytte (10/13) - 26:30
Lehigh (9/28) - 26:59
Pre-Reg (9/15) - 27:00
3. LEAHY
NJAC 25:44
Lafaytte (10/13) - 26:29
Lehigh (9/28) - 27:05
Pre-Reg (9/15) - 26:35
4. BERTI
NJAC 26:05
Lafaytte (10/13) - 26:48
Lehigh (9/28) - 26:57
Pre-Reg (9/15) - 26:58

6. SEYFFART
NJAC 26:15
Lafaytte (10/13) - DNR?
Lehigh (9/28) - 27:02
Pre-Reg (9/15) - 27:02
7. MATTESON
NJAC 26:19
Lafaytte (10/13) - 27:14
Lehigh (9/28) - DNR?
Pre-Reg (9/15) - 27:04
And before you argue that TCNJ is just peaking really well and it has nothing to do with the course, keep in mind that EVERY guy in Rowan's top 5 ran more than a minute faster at NJAC than they did at Paul Short last month.
I don't question that TCNJ is a pretty good and will probably finish somewhere in the 6-8 range at Regionals, but take away this weekend's NJAC times and you'll see that they're not built like a team that will challenge for NCAAs. They would need both SLU and Rochester self-destruct badly at Regionals to finish top 5. And these team's track records over the past few seasons indicate that's probably not very likely.
THANK YOU. This is exactly right. Even some Ramapo guys who were running relatively slow times magically dropped stellar times at NJACs. Sure, some of those top TCNJ guys could've PR'ed by 20 or so seconds. But the 5th guy from above PR'ed by over 30 seconds, and that was the smallest jump! It is very obviously short.
How will Hurricane Susan affect Regionals? Discuss.
It appears the TCNJ team has finally discovered this thread. FYI everyone: the NJAC course was 4.73 miles. I had my GPS during the race. Gallagher will probably sneak a wild card, but not much after that.
Don't you mean hurricane sandy? haha

noob
If you were a real weatherman, you'd understand what I was talking about. Since you don't...
I mapped the NJAC course and it was 5.08 Props to NJAC runners that PRd on a long course
Not to get into Susan... but on a serious note the course will be pretty sloppy this weekend. Although WNY is not getting as much rain as great NYC area it did get alot of rain last week and it was allready pretty wet and add on top of that the 2-3 inches expected today it will be messy at best.
I am sure the better teams will still win but could affect the individual race a bit.
I guess its a good thing no one needs to run there this weekend.
I heard that the regionals course was so flooded that it will take weeks for the water levels to die down. The thing practically starts out in a basin. I guess everyone is going to be swimming off the line.
The Atlantic Region is to short courses as Let's Run is to doping.
Meaning anyone faster than you only runs short courses.

There's no way Oja swam that course in 2:25:10! That course was short!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
