WTF?
WTF?
no wheels
Man. I wonder if the same thing happened as the girls race. I know at least one girl. Gina from loyola was told to stop a lap early and they gave her a DNF. She would have easillllly been in the top 12 and made the championships. Such a fine line. Sure the runners should know theor laps but its so difficult when you are running 25 laps. Lapping people, getting lapped, and seeing a counter say a number that may or may not be your number! Wow that sucks
flotrack tweeted that he was headed to the portapotty
He is suffering from AGS....
Adam Goucher Syndrome.
The Loyola runner kicked home among the race leaders, but she was on her 24th lap. So no, she was nowhere near the top 12. Sorry to disappoint you that a 33:53 seed mark wasn't contending for a nationals spot in the Texas heat.
Allie Woodward of Oregon knocked a minute off her PR and finished 3rd!

Thank you!!! Its not impossible and i was unable to watch it but was told she was running reallllly fast so when someone says that to me I assume a PR. I guess i was mislead but its not impossible for someone to pr bu 30 seconds in a 10k from stanford to regionals. Heat or not.
Stinson is also listed in the mens 5000m run. For all but a few, (Levins, Lalang etc), I would think the 5k/10k double in the Texas heat would be a challenge. But based on his comments after the race, he seemed rather disappointed with his performance, like a DNF wasn't planned, so who knows what that means for the 5k.
And congrats to Woodward!! What the hell happened to Bronwyn Crossman??
he can't enter the 5k after dropping out of the 10k
he got a medical appeal to run the 5k because he was throwing up after the 10k

Given that Stinson comes from just outside of Austin I imagine he can handle it just fine.

I hope this is a joke post... but... dude just look at the results. All of the people in the top 12 were on the same lap as the leader. Unless this girl was told to stop a lap early BEFORE the leader finished (ie they thought she won) then she was not anywhere close to being in the top 12.
On a related note, some Cal Poly guy got lapped in the Men's race and then kicked it in with the 5-12 pack, causing confusion for a while.
Is this the same rule for all divisions

Well clearly he could NOT handle the 10k last night.
So Stinson blew it. Big deal. No love for Portland freshman Scott Fauble finishing 7th? Lets focus on the positives here people!

It has NOTHING to do with where you're from. It's genetic. You can either handle the heat, or you can't. I've lived the vast majority of my 50 years in the south, primarily Texas, and I'm the absolute worst when it comes to the running in the heat. Then look at two of the best hot weather marathoners the U.S. has ever produced: Dick Beardsley (Minn.) and Alberto Salazar (Mass. via Cuba).
I'm a huge Parker Stinson fan and I wish him all the best. Seeing him listed for both the 5k and 10k, I figured, with all his success in the 10k at the junior level, that event would be his best bet to qualify for NCAAs and do pretty decent. I was bummed when he stepped off the track for a DNF and really hope to see him bounce back in the 5k...
Possibly the most idiotic post I have ever read. You are a lone example, an outlier if you will. The vast majority of people go through Acclimatization

Good for Parker Stinson. He made it back tonight and ran a great 5K race. I was hoping that he'd be well enough after his problem during the 10K. Rumor is he ate a fresh lettuce salad earlier in the day...and you know what can happen when the lettuce hasn't been properly washed.
