Enough said...his career is over. I had 2 high schoolers under my coaching last year run faster than that. What a joke.

So his career is over because two high schoolers you know can run faster than him right now?
He's been training this winter hasn't he?
Anyone who can run 3:46, should be able to go out and run a 1:54 with no training. There is something very physically wrong with him.
It disgusts me that you seem to be happy about this. Very weak.
Yeah, he is just seriously washed up. During the indoor season he was easily outkicked by very average small college runners. A lot of people made excuses for him then (as if any mid-distance runner with Olympic aspirations should ever, even in the worst of condition, run so slow), and I sympathize with them. I pull for the guy, too. But there's simply no reasonable way to rationalize away these results any more. 1:54 outdoors after using the indoor season to get some racing in...dreadful. It's sad. Hopefully, he's not slowing down Andrews too much.
He's probably training through this race...or, he could have maxed out HIS genetic potential at an earlier age. Not everyone can be a Lagat or some other older but still fast person.
And Webb is a lot more top heavy than the distance runners who continue to excel even into their 30s. His tendons, etc probably break down in strengh faster,
Hope Vig and Webb can figure it out. I'm very curious what type of workouts he's been putting in.
The quality has to be there for him to travel to Florida for a race.
Wobby Wandrews must be kicking his ass in practice lol
Training through this race is not an excuse for 1:54.
1:54 shows fundamental problems with the training program.
It's sad, especially considering he was on the right track back last year.
I've said this before and I'll say it again. Webb needs to be trained like a 5k runner. He ran 13:30 on the roads beating Rupp then ran something like 3:37/36. That was the road back, not Vig training him like a 800m runner.
Salazar didn't know how to deal with Webb. He was the wrong choice for Webb as a coach. There is a reason he ended up injured. Vig is his only reasonable choice despite the results thus far.

Running a 1:54 with no training is not a true statement. However, CLEARLY, something is wrong. I can't see him recovering from this last year of high school caliber performances.
Well, he did run 3:36 under AlSal...not sure what hes doing wrong at this point.

Yep, keep hating him to the grave....
Maybe at some point you can realize the issue just might be with Webb and not Salazar.
You can seriously say Vig is the right choice when he has a 3:46 miler running 1:54 for an 800? Are you stupid?
Salazar didn't know how to deal with Webb? Webb ran 3:36 and 13:30 on the roads under Salazar.
Your logic is this:
1:54 = the right coach.
3:36 + 13:30 = wrong coach.
Wow.
I would rather be injured than running 1:54 and getting 32nd out of 41 competitors at a college meet.
webb looking too big and just leg heavy:
He's a headcase.
1:54 is pathetic for someone who's run a 3:46 mile.
During his AR mile he ran a faster average time for both 800m's back to back than he did for this one 800m race.
That's sad for him, but dude was either juicing or he's washed up.
ALAN, TAKE UP THE 5K NOW OR SAY GOODBYE TO OLYMPIC SUCCESS FOREVER.
Semenya would give Webb a run for his money at this point! This is pathetic. Dude is done. One of the most talented runners of all time, but never lived up to his potential.

This makes no sense. I don't care how much of a head case you are, you are not going to get kicked down running 1:54 if you are capable of 1:47 (which Webb should be capable of, even early season, training through...).
Something is physically wrong.

Yes. Agreed.
His head is physically wrong with him.
