A nice scalp to have, no doubt. However, I think Nick will be ready to run well in London (probably not silver medal, but I would bet he makes the final).
They (Nick and Will) are training partners, so it will be interesting to see how that plays out. Neither looked particularly sharp (which is a good thing in January), so it's hard to say if this means anything. But I've always thought Leer is one of the fastest kickers in a tactical race (though he doesn't always get himself in the best position), but that Willis has always been stronger and thus better able to kick in a sub-3:38 type race. But it would appear at this point that they are very comparably strong. Personally, I hope it means we'll see 'em both in the final.
