The Northeastern men’s and women’s track and field teams brought top finishes back to Huntington Avenue from meets in two different states last weekend, despite being down head coach Sherman Hart after his March 29 suspension

That Northeaster cluster f*ck is bs. At least the way they replaced the head coach. A 3rd year minority female coach was named the interim head while the white male 6th year coach was over looked.

Mike Curcio accepted the job at Queens University of Charlotte. Announcement won't be made until after NCAAs due to his current contract with Appalachian State University. His decision to leave for Queens is in line with John Weaver's retirement from ASU after this season.

ASU will certainly promote from within for the position.

Let's hope so, Distance/XC as head T&F coaches hurt the sport of T&F particularly in the sprints and field.

Complete fabrication. Curcio withdrew his name from Queens a long time ago. When they called back he still said no. Weaver is not retiring either.

Amherst Women's job is posted. I thought this was posted last summer. I see the assistant is currently serving interim. Did they not fill the position? Is this just a formality to now give the assistant the job? Anyone have any insight?

Amherst would be idiots just to "give it to an assistant." They could be ridiculous in women's cross country and actually build a pretty decent program if they made an effort to hire someone experienced. Rumor has it last year since the job posted late, they didn't really like any of the candidates. The current interim guy has a full time job and just agreed to take over for the year.

Heard the Southern Connecticut job has two candidates that they like. Should be an assistant job coming open with that one following the hire.

Any more details on this??[/quote]

The admin has made their choice, the new head will be announced Wednesday May 9th. Dont ask why itll take so long, its a state school. From what I hear, this coach will have high moral and ethical standards, something new for a head of this program.

From what the head men's coach says, the assistant position will open up, but is pretty much secured with current AC, Nicholas Lara.

Stop spreading rumors. Obviously you have something to gain from telling lies that Curcio is leaving.
