I hear that the Honda Fit does, though I've never been in one myself.
Yep. The Honda Fit has front seats that fold down flush for sleeping like the Honda Fit.
If you are a runner buying a car named FIT is the equivalent of wearing a pocket protector as an engineering major.
The Honda Element has seats (front and back) that fold flat into a sort of bed. It is a good car for road trips from a comfort standpoint, but gas mileage is sort of middling at about 25 highway (my observation) due to the its non-aerodynamic shape.
2011 was the last year for this cool car though :(
I just bought a Veloster a couple months ago. Sporty, great gas mileage(40+), and all the colors are inspired by running. I got the "vitamin c" orange. Front seat doesn't fold flat but I had no trouble sleeping in it the night before the races I travelled to.
The fit's rear seats fold down flush but not the front seats.
Wrong. The front seat slides forward, head rest removes, and seat folds back flat. Not bed-flat because of the bumps on the seat. The back seat also folds into the floor to have a big flat area in the back. The back is far better for sleeping. The fit gets poor mpg and has a small fuel tank. Yes, low-mids 30s is bad for a Honda and sub-compact.
The Honda FIT is a Station Wagon and gets the best EPA mileage for that category. You can haul more in a FIT than any other little car.
The fit gets poor mpg
The 2011 Fit's 35MPG is great for a Sub-Compact but even better the Fit is not rated as Sub-Compact, it's rated a Small Station Wagon.
Wife's Fit gets 40 mph on the road, 31 mph in the city.
Good cargo space, too.

Maybe it looks sporty, but a 0-60 time of 8.5 seconds (Toyota Sienna mini-van does 7.9, for reference) is anything but. Hopefully the turbo coming out next year will let the car live up to its appearance.

Never buy a car made by a company from Korea, United States, or Europe.
German engineering has become overly complicated with suspect reliability. About the only thing that is dependable on most German cars approaching 100,000 miles is the crankshaft, rods and pistons.
I've read that real-world MPG of Fit is much better than the EPA estimate. I think they did car comparison between Fit, Mazda2, and Fiesta by one of the big car magazines, and Fit had the best real-world MPG even though it had the worst EPA estimate. It was tested with standard transmission.
I owned a FIT for 2 years and hated it. The MPG wasn't that great(36mpg...solid? Yes. For what you sacrifice to get it? Not worth it) and I drove 80% on the freeway. If you have to drive up long hills, take road trips or drive in wind in excess of 10mph...have fun, because it is miserable. The interior is cheap and you will find yourself at 5000rpm quicker than you think.
I now drive an altima...I sacrifice 9 mpg compared to the FIT, but it is beyond worth it.
I can't really think of too many situations where driving a FIT would be an enjoyable experience. If you like the FIT, it is either your first car or you are lying to yourself.
I spent a solid 1.5 years defending my decision of purchasing a FIT but I knew that I was lying...
I believe that the 4-door (although not the 2-door) VW Rabbit/Golf have this feature. May depend on the model year.
And although fun to drive, these cars are not nearly as reliable as a Japanese car.
Toyota Matrix. Passenger's seat folds flush. We bought a treadmill at Sam's and were able to slide it into our car with the front passenger seat down. Got more cargo space too than the Honda Fit (at least our '07 does).
Just get an LR4. Lots of room as all the seats behind the front seats fold down flush. You can fit an air mattress back there.
I had both the Matrix and the Fit. I put windsurfers in the car. The matrix is terrific since the front seat folds forward and flat.
The fit is not so good in that even if you put the seat all the way forward and take off the headrest, the front passenger seat hits the back seat and will not go flat. I am looking for something to replace the matrix and would like a small SUV where the front passenger seat folds FLAT, or even better, folds forward and flat.
