who is the white guy drying off at the beginning? all the kenyans are looking at him like 'what a fvcking moron' for running in the rain.
well i guess they all then get out there in the rain themselves. maybe they were thinking 'shit, i gotta go run in the rain like this fvcking moron.'
either way, they were looking at him like he was a fvcking moron.
you have to hand it to Kiprop for keeping it real and not moving to, say, monte carlo.
Dude must have a couple million US dollars and he is training in worse conditions than some us junior high school kids.
Asbel keeping it real!!!
I won't be happy until everyone on letsrun has seen this video. Great stuff.

No, it's because he is wearing a heart rate monitor.
This training session reminds me of my middle school track and field practices.
Aha, what happened to the whole "kenyans don't do drills/exercises, they just run!" Clearly not.
who said that WHO ???

The Kenyans do plenty of drills and exercises. What you see here could as well have been the Jamaicas--sleds and sprinting on grass--except the Jamaicans don't hold stretches.
Here's similar view with the Ethiopians, including Bekele doing drills at the end:

Very interesting to see Kiprop and other Kenyans pulling sleds like sprinters.
Wow, really cool stuff
Wow, this is some crazy stuff. Running around with a rope and tire attached to you???
this is video of the year - the brojos should put it on the front page to show that there is no magic.
Al Sal should watch this too.

They wouldn't by saying that shit if it was SebCoe or Ovett.
The jump rope part is great.

No eccentricities - that's why they're good. No BS SUVs, boom boxes, synthetic supplements, big egos. Just pure and simple.

Do people suggest that for the 1500? I don't think so.
Marathon, volume is crucial. Drills for speed are secondary. What event you are training for is the most important piece of the puzzle. When someone says they are running 120 miles a week they aren't stupid if they are training for a marathon. If someone says they are running 50 miles a week they aren't stupid if they are doing drills, speedwork and training for the 800/1500.
Ton of respect for Asbel ever since the World Champs when he was up early the morning after the 1500m final to hand out water in the marathon. You could see him in the video feed jumping around and cheering Kirui.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
