WEEK TOTAL: 30.2 MILES
Week total was 30 miles again . I managed just three running days, but bumped the length of each run, going longer than 8 miles for the first time since October 1st. Weekly mileage progression has been 6, 8, 21, 23, 28, 30, 30.
Still, it remains discouraging that fitness is so slow in returning. More discouraging is that my knee and achilles woes continue. I have about 24 weeks before my 2018 goal race -- a 15K in August. I will likely need something close to 59:00 to defend my 2017 title. Seems unimaginable at present.
LucKY, that's a long time to be suffering with "the crud." Hope it's not something too serious, and that you're finall ygetting past it.
Igy, thanks for the update. Been thinking about you, and glad to hear you have kept the racing on your calendar.
Charlie, as usual you should be my role model. For so many decades I could run through all those aches and pains, and eventually they would go away. Seems different now as I approach 60.
amkelley, that is amazing mileage. I need a big dose of your strength and dedication. And time management skills. Looking forward to seeing you post a great HM result.
Coyote, you are on fire! Big congrats on the masters win, and the age-graded PR. Enjoy this year, what a great ride it's shaping up to be! With all the racing you have planned, do you think you'll be able to schedule a marathon? Any particular one in mind if you do?
