21 miles for me. This week was a bit of a recovery week for me with the first 5K of our local XC series yesterday. Last year I ran 20:23 in the race. I told my wife and a couple of team mates before the race yesterday that I would be happy with anything under 22:00 based on where I thought I am in my rebuilding process. I just managed to make my goal running 21:59. My splits were 7:09, 7:09, 7:06, :35, so I paced it just about right. I felt like I was running pretty close to my aerobic limit, but I also felt like I was rusty at running at race effort. My knee today feels pretty good with just a little bit of soreness, so I will get back to building the mileage tomorrow and hopefully be ready to race again in two weeks.
