In a straight-up contest, not really sure who the event would favor. However, in terms of improvement I think better eaters would be able to more effectively break the 57:03.
Look at it this way. The 10k WR is 26:17, or about 7 minutes faster than the 10k from Sunday. So 7 minutes could be gained there (assuming you could convince Bekele to do something like this, of course ;).
At the same time, however, it took about 23:30 to eat the burgers (avg. ~3:55/burger). Let's say someone can knock all 6 down averaging 2:15 / burger (I think doable for some freakish burgerholic out there). That's an improvement of 6 x 2:15 or 13:30, a full 10 minutes faster.
So really I think the most ground is to be gained by the eaters (potentially).
