Bairu ahead of Rupp in Cardinal 10K 4/25/2010 4:46PM Reply | Return to Index | Report Post
OK, so i screwed up a bit with my Tadesse over Geb's WR in London - but we all did! This time I am not so far fetched. Bairu is transitioning to the track and brings much stength, stamina and decent speed and is looking to lower his 10K PB. I predict Bairu in 27:20 range, but in front of Rupp!

Yep, you heard it here first!!

but they are teammates wearing the same uniform so I predict that they will finish an amazing race holding hands like teammates do!

I would love for Bairu to run 27:20, but he has not gotten that close to that mark yet. That is a pretty big step.

27:20 for Simon would surprise me, but Jeff Schiebler's Canadian record of 27:36.01 could be in jeopardy.

Actually, Rupp may run in Eugene, weather permitting.

Rupp in Eugene does sound terribly lame. Who would pace? Ritz? Rupp runs well with competition. Hope he doesn't start going all Alan Webb. Run with the big boys!

You are predicting an American Record for Rupp? Now? Really? Ok. Would be cool to see and it is the softest of American records, but I think that's a bit much from him just yet.

Having a deep lineup for a race is not conducive for record times. After the rabbits drop off - the pace slows because no one wants to do all the work since everyone has similar ability.

The fastest 10000m time in the western hemisphere was run @ Hayward.

can someone please explain how hayward would be better? weather being a wash as it is hard to predict, who would rabbit and for how long? are the fans going to get in lane 3 and line the track to fire him up after said rabbit quits at 5k at the absolute most? just don't understand how this could be better than stanford
