Kitwara won in 58:58. He broke away from the lead group with 3k to go. Jonathan Mayo was 2nd, James Kwambai 3rd in 59:10. Kitwara said, conditions were good and the WR within reach if the group had worked together more. Kitwara is confident he'll break the WR in the future.
Wanjiru ran 1:01:10. He fell back from the lead group after 5k already. He said, the pace was to fast for him as he's in the middle of the preparation for Chicago.
For what it's worth, Wanjiru said he's not aiming for the WR in Chicago. He only wants to win. His plan is to break the WR next year. Either in Rotterdam or Berlin.
