was that a 56 and a 52? 1:48...help me out
last 1000m in 2.23.xx
No 56 was from 600 to go to 200 to go. More like 1.52 60 +52
Oh....thanks but that is still fast!
I truly think if bekele tried a few times he could roll 1:46 or faster. I think he should start doing other distances just to have fun with it, he is rich and accomplished just about all he can at 5k and 10k, why not hope in and race at other distances?
I don't think we will ever again see the 5000m world champion decide to focus on the 800m in the following season--as Aouita did in 1988--but it would be fun to see Bekele try one.
Yes I think he should shoot sub 1:45 imagine that:
1:44
s**t missed the 3000m (forgot the time is one hour ahead in Greece), any place to see the replay?

Was not fast at all. I'm actually kinda shocked at how slow it was. I remember when Lagat went 12:59, closing in 51.9 was it? or 52.0....closing in a 52 should be a joke off that pace, as should closing in under 1:52. I doubt they were going all out until the last 200 or so. I really wish we'd seen something fast that last 400/800.
Kenenisa proves any doubters that he has a stronger kick this year vs lagat. We may had doubts at the wc 5000 with the close finish.. but he had no doubt then and he showed he had no doubt this year. He did not panic and he went for it and easily showed that any doubt is BS.
The race was set up for Lagat with a slow pace. but Kenenisa can outkick 1500 runners in a3000..
he is the best distance runner of all time!
Too bad we won´t see Kenny in the 5000 tomorrow.
It's the WAF; nobody gives a ****. 8:03 FTW shows how much effort Kenny B devoted to this one; if he could hold off Lagat with a 52, why go any faster?
Lagat closed faster than KB. His position at the bell wasn't
optimal.

Strategic positioning is part of the game. Kenny was smarter than Lagat.
bekele is the greatest distance runner of all time
that said the lagat hes been outkicking is 35 years old, 5 years ago lagat destroys bekele over the last lap of any race over 7:40 (but 5 years ago i doubt bekele lets the race go that slow)
bekele is absolutely dominant this year, but apart from him it is something of a weak year
sure. My point is that Lagat is no slower than KB.

If you ignore all those races where he ran slower than KB (and hence was beaten by KB), then yes, you might be right. He definitely was no slower in all those other races where he was faster than KB.
in closing. Hair splitter.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
