Tim Hightower or Julius Jones?
Matt Schuab or Matt Hasselback?

I'd avoid Hightower. Not only does 'Zona do way more passing than running, but Wells is gonna steal a ton of carries - most likely the near the goaline, too. He's a load, and they'll want him in to punch it in. Note: this isn't an endorsement of Jones necessarily. I think Edge might steal some carries, but Jones is a better choice than Hightower.
Schaub and Hass. is tough. I'd go Schaub. Higher ceiling with him. He's got a couple 400yd, 3td games in him this year. I'm not sure Hass. does. Plus, it's not like the JETS are setting any records on defense. Go with Schaub at home.
Schaub & Jones.
Man, with QB choices like that I hope you are in a 20 player league or something.
Good insights... that's my gut too. The RBs are my #3 guys. I have a feeling Jones is going to have a breakout year, but if there was ever a time to use Hightower, it would probably be week #1, especially because he's useful in the passing game. Can't believe Hasselback was still on the board when I picked him up.
Three RBs, two WRs and a flex Wr/TE, QB, Def, and K. That's the league's optimal mix.
Thanks guys. All opinions are welcome.
Schuab for sure.
Ray Rice or Kevin Smith?
Smith was great for me last year, but I'd go with Rice this week.
Schaub has upside but it will be a miracle if he survives by week 4 this year. He holds onto the ball too long and takes a lot more punishing hits than he needs to.
Hasselback is the healthiest he has been in a few years. Personally I would go with Hasselback but it is very close.
I know Schaub has the higher ceiling, but the Rams' defense, especially the secondary, is not good. As a fan, I'm painfully aware of how bad they are. They just cut their starting linebacker yesterday because he wouldn't take a pay cut. If I'm you, I'm giving the nod to Hasselbeck this week.
I'd also start Hightower over Jones.

Good points, too. It's really close on these guys, Sag.
I know. That's why I put it to the board. St. Louis' porous defense is significant, but the Jets are missing two key pass rushers and Schaub has more "weapons."
Hightower is really only a week #1 option. If Jones starts lighting it up, it'll be between him and LenDale White as #3 back, who I sat this week.
Plus, looking at early last year, Jones has had success against St. Louis, whereas Hightower has been somewhat contained by SF. But Hightower definitely had the better preseason.
Flacco or Rivers?
KC = bad pass defense, but is Oakland any better?
Rivers will light up Oakland on Monday night!!
I may be missing something but don't the Raiders have a pretty good defensive secondary?
As good as Oakland's secondary is, Rivers has a healthy, fresh VJackson, Gates, LT, and Chambers to throw to. Can you name any players that Flacco throws to? How can you even question starting Flacco over Rivers?
In my flex position:
Hightower vs. Kevin Walter?
I know that they are not the best of options, but it is a 14 team league. Thanks.

I'm a Seahawks fan who lives in Seattle, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Or a pillar of salt.
Jones and Hasselbeck.
I'm actually not that high on Jones, but the Rams defense is god awful. BUT, Edge has only 2 carries during the preseason as is admittedly not in tip top shape because he signed halfway through. Of course Mora has been pretty quiet about the RB situation so it could be a ploy. Forsett, the other RB isn't much of a threat to get more than 8 carries and he's not nearly the pass blocker that Jones or Edge is, though he can catch a good screen pass. So Jones I think will get a good chunk of yards just by default. If you look back to last year, Jones actually had 127 yards and 140 yards against SF and STL last year in weeks 2 and 3.
Hightower is crap as is Arizona's running game in general, so I'm not sure if Hightower has much of a chance (if any) to eclipse the 60 yard mark. Basically he's boom or bust with a TD.
Hasselbeck v Schaub is a tough one, and I actually have the exact same dilemma in my fantasy league. The Jets D sucks and the Rams D sucks. Hasselbeck has several good targets to throw to, and has looked fairly good this preseason. Our o-line is actually pretty banged up as well, but I'm not sure if the Rams can garner any real pressure anyways. The thing about Jets though is that Rex Ryan, a supposed defensive genius is their new coach, so I figure that may count for something.
Can't go wrong either way though, but if you do start Jones, you may want to start Schaub just to spread out the risk (though having the RB and QB isn't nearly as risky as QB and WR which is what I'm doing with Hasselbeck and Housh) since one of the two is bound to get a TD.

Schaub and Hasselbeck are the 9th and 11th ranked QBs.
Nice work Lantermac. I share your concerns about the o-line of Seattle as well. That's part of my analysis. And Ryan or no Ryan, the Jets D is missing two KEY players. Schaub has many weapons. Either way, I'm going to have Schaub/Slaton (because Slaton is in no matter what) or Hasselback/Jones, so it's tough to totally spread it around.
