Alright,after a couple years of no running since HS i started doing 40mi a week for the last 7 weeks (all easy running, picked it up hard on 1 or 2 runs only), building a somewhat decent base. I just finished a half marathon in 1:19:49, and now im looking to run a 5k in november, hopefully under 16:20. I was thinking of a plan like this, eventually building up to 65mi/week.
Monday- Easy Miles, 4x100m strides
Tuesday- Easy Miles
Wednesday- 5mi Tempo
Thursday- Easy Miles
Friday- Easy Miles, 10x100m strides
Saturday- Easy Miles
Sunday- Moderatly hard, steady long run.
Also doing some core and light lifting along the way.
Does this look good or should i add more quality? In the past iv always over trained so im trying not to overdo it this time around.
