Hello fellow letsrunners
I know you guys get this all the time but I was looking for some advice. I'm a high school senior with prs of 54 (400), 203 (800), 440 (mile), 1647 (5k), 2301(4 miler). I trained pretty hard this summer, averaging around 60-70 miles. I also was a lifeguard so I swam almost a mile every morning. I did mostly base work over the summer with a tempo, vo2 workout, and long run every week. I ran some 5k (actually 3.2 miles) time trials this summer on the cement of 1714 and 1700. My 1700 splits were 532, 508, 525 (really really weird race). Anyways, since the season is starting our coach thinks that intervals are the key to success. We do workouts like 3 mile, 2 mile, 1 mile with 10 mins in between each on monday and tuesday. Wednesday there will be a recovery and thursday hill "sprints" and a 2 mile. Friday is recovery, race Saturday and I do my own long run on sunday. So, I just ran a time trial on a really tough course this morning an ran 1805. Feeling a little discouraged, what should I change training wise? Or do I change anything at all? Thanks and Love you all :]
