I bet he stays in decent shape. I bet he can still go low 4's like 4:09ish. If he trained seriously for a month or so I am sure he could go under 4 easily.
id say more like 355-356

Maybe it would be awesome to see him run another mile. I was just going off of when i quit training seriously i went from a 4:07 to a 4:57. I know it's a horrible comparison me being a slow guy and him the all time great but I bet cold turkey he would have a hard time just running a 3:55 but then again i have no idea how much he trains right now.
my guess is 430ish or so...I know a 27 min 10K guy, and after a year of easy running, he had a hard time running 28 for an 8K. Fitness goes away faster than you think.
do you mean a full mile?
No, a "Badger" mile.
id say 440.
even if he trained to the best of his abilities, he'll never go under 420 again. too old and took too lang of break from running.

Ha, you beat me to it.
Come on, it's El G we're talkin' about.
6:43 badger mile.
I read a year or so ago that he still runs 10k per day. He'd be under 4:10 I think.
Rumor is he still runs an easy 10k per day.
4:15 is my bet.
Jason Rexing could break 6 for a Badger Mile.
Ok will someone from Wisconsin (I'm guessing) explain what Badger mile is for crying out loud.

I am not from Wisconsin, but I have been in the state 4 times and watched Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley & That 70's show religiously.
Certain Cheese Heads estimate their mileage by assuming every mile is run at 7:00 pace. If Teg runs for 70 minutes, Teg logs in 10 miles. These estimated miles are affectionately referred to as "Badger" Miles.
4:18
El G was here in SOCAL three weeks ago, we went for an easy 6 mile run on the beach, however, we ran the last two miles in 9:06
