What are some good running watches other than Timex?
I'm fed up with timex since it broke after a year and still doesn't work after I had the battery replaced.
Does nike make a good watch? What are some others?

rolex make nice watches
thanks asshole
The Nike Triax is a good watch. I have a 50 lap model that's about 3 years old that I paid like $50 for, and it still works great. Still has the original battery too.
Suunto also makes nice watches, but they are more expensive.
I watched the WC's, that was a good watch.
I also watched America's Got Talent, that was not a good watch.
Nike watches suck, poor quality control.
I swear the first response is always the best.
Does anyone else prefer the old start/stop button next to the split/ rese button right up front as opposed to the start/split up front and the stop/reset on the side?
I find it harder to get to the stop button on the side and have fumble for it when finishing.

I used to buy Nike watches only for running. I had 5 in 5 years or something. The batteries run out quicker, the wristbands fall off easier (and they make it REALLY hard to replace to get you to buy a new watch) and the screen fades quicker. The watches themselves are great, but I have a feeling Nike makes them to ensure that you continue buying them on a yearly basis. I've had my Timex for the past 4 years now, no problems except only 30 laps of memory on it. Perhaps you just had bad luck with your Timex?
Hey stop replying to this guy - a few hours earlier I basically asked what is a good heart rate monitor but haven't got any replies yet. Since HRMs and watches are pretty similar, I get priority since I asked my question first.
Put your fingers on your neck and count the beats.
Check out Oakley, they have some very nice Analog stopwatches.
Nike actually doesn't make watches anymore. Many retail stores still have them around, but they are no longer making them.
Unfortunately, no one is really making your basic stopwatch right now. Garmin Forerunner 50 and FR60 are good choices, but have HR and run about $100. Suunto also makes some great watches, but they also are over $100 and come with HR.
Seen a lot of watches in my day - the absolute best is Aquatech Alarm Chronograph. Velcro strap. Ten bucks at Walmart. Intuitive: you push dis button it starts. Dat button it stops. Dat udder button it resets. If da battery dies you get another one.
breitling
yeah, what a terrible watch. Something that cost you $30 only worked for a year.
I had a nice Nike watch that died on the starting line of a half marathon. I was so pissed.
I was not happy w/ my Nike Watch. You are supposed to send them in to have the batteries changed, expensive and not very practical. Mine broke.
I've had several Timex watches and have always liked them, so not sure what happened with yours. I also had a Coleman watch for a couple years that worked well. I think that was like $20 when I got it. I may have to look for the one Malmo suggested at some point though...$10 is hard to beat.
actually it was a "solar" watch that cost 55$ and it shorted out after a year. I took it to a jewler who changed the battery and it still doesn't work.
I use my Nike watch 5 times a week for the last 2 years and never had a single problem---I even took it when I deployed to Iraq. Anyways, I wear it all the time and I'm still on the same battery, probably because I have it on battery save mode. If I don't press a button within an hour the display shuts off.
