10:04. Hasay's old record was 10:07... she smashed it! I think this is also a faster time than anything Hasay has run alone (meaning Sveinsson ran faster alone than Hasay did). |

I agree, the pressure is now on for her. Hasay has spoken with her about what to expect. The interesting thing in all this is that Sveinsson is apparently already leaning toward a letter of intent to Oregon. The rich keep getting richer. |

Hasay's birthday is like September 21st and she'll turn 18 then. She literally could have waited another year to start school! Imagine the HS records she'd be throwing down with another year! She's still 17 and a graduated Senior. Sveinsson is 16 as a Sophomore. |

all these girls won't amount to nothing. Either anorexic, bout to grow hips, bout to burn out, etc. Its a long slow road, and few young ones have the 'discipline' to wait. If the don't plateau in HS, college kills them, and they begin the downward spiral. |

[/quote] What do Goucher, Flanagan & Barringer have in common? They were not running national records in high school. They focused on steady improvement not chasing down times. It is true that most high school phenoms burn out, but there are exceptions. Hopefully Sveinsson and Hasay are exceptions, but lets time tell and not Letsrun pundits. |
