NOT incuding the World Class Athletes, what have you run for your 2 mile run during a Physical Fitness Test? I did 86 push up's, 95 sit-ups, and 9:55 for my 2 mile.

I've run 8:30 for 3k...
the marine test is three miles.
Nice job on your P.T. test. The pushups and situps are impressive.
By best P.T. test make me proud. I did 68 pushups and 71 situps plus a 10:12 for two miles while in the Army National Guard, after serving as an Active Duty Air Force man. Your performance is really outstanding! The hard part about doing the 2-mile run for the P.T. test is not having a chance to run a warm-up. I always went into oxygen debt in a hurry until I learned to start slower.
I know that Dan Browne is in the National Guard (or Reserves) in Portland, OR. I bet he cranks a mean 2 mile time.
99 pushups, 86 sit-ups and 9:25 for the 2 mile
I scored 371 on the extended scale with 103 push-ups, 101 sit-ups (I think those are the right totals - I was just over 100 in each) and a 10:14 two-mile. Footmote: The half-mile track at Fort Sam Houston was (supposedly) later found to be significantly long.
EG,
Who are you? Did you ever run in the Army 10 miler?

For the record, it is 50 feet long per half mile. I certified it one time for Roger Soler when he was getting things ready for a Pentathlon Competition.
The fastest I've ever run for a 2 mile was 9:28 on an out and back pt course in 1988.
I ran 9:32 in 1994 in Germany for my first PT test of the year (May) and then in Nov 1994 we took the second test and I ran 9:42, my Platoon Sergeant in typical military genious tried to give me a negative counseling statement because I had gotten "slower".
Hey Marine are you still active? Nice 3k time, that should bring you in around 14:00 for 3 miles
Once upon a time, rolled up 107 SU, 105 PU and ran an 8:51. Scored right about 400 on ES. 17-21 age bracket.

That's a solid time, but 8:30 in the 3k won't bring you anywhere near 14:00 in the 5k. I'd say 14:30-35 at best. My PR is 8:34 and I've only run 14:48(and I'm a better distance guy)
lates
yeah, he said 3 miles, not 5k... so, the two of you are pretty close in prediction times.
4mer Marine,
I am a reservist. I've run 14:44 for the 5k as well, so my 3k time isn't really an indication of where I was at. My times will drop, I am certain of it.
One of my former roomates ran 9:12 in Germany during his 2 mile PT test in 1993.....he would have run faster if he didn't have to lap so many lard asses.
In the Know,
4mer marine was referring to a 14:00 3 mile time. 3 miles is what is tested for the USMC physical fitness test. He wasn't writing about a 5k. But yes, a 14 flat 5k is a little out of my reach (for right now).
Liam Collins - West Point '92 - Current Army MAJ - has the most impressive PT performance I've ever heard from the Best Ranger competition several years back. I won't even list his scores here because no one will believe them.
list 'em.
we'll decide whether to believe them or not.
My personal best's are 95 pushups, 100 situps, and a 9:15 two mile. I scored that at my AIT at Fort Jackson two years ago.
I knew a guy who ran it around 9 flat. Was a 820 3k runner. He ran the army 10 miler and was the first Rotc runner to finish. I think he came in 16th or something in 51 minutes and had ran a marathon in 236. As for pushups ive seen as high as 114 and situps about the same.

I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
