check out the letsrun contest enteries. VERY ENTERTAINING!!
The Snova Classic was originally slated to be dropped at the end of this year but that was recently postponed until July of 2010. Adidas announced that they would be updating the Classic with modern technology and materials. I'm not sure exactly what that means since that could change the fit and feel of the shoe.
If this new version of the shoe is delayed then it is probable that the Classic won't be phased out until its replacement is ready.
Brooks Axioms are roughly similar
I am currently looking for a good running shoe. I always had Reeboks but I think now it is time to change the brand. I am thinking about buying a Saucony running shoe. Has anyone experiences with that brand? Although I am not quite sure if this is the right brand for me. Are there any other suggestions regarding a good running shoe brand? Would appreciate some useful tips.
yes, preferably similar to the Snove classic, as this thread is for..
I don't think that there is a shoe directly comparable to the Supernova Classic. It's a unique shoe with its very curved last and very slight support under the arch. If you have a high arch and need a bit of arch support, try the Saucony Guide 2 or the Asics 1140.
For women, I believe the closest shoe is the Asics 2140 (that's been my experience, and I've also been told that at different running stores).
I am looking for the same thing. I've been wearing the classic for years now and am devastated to find out it's been discontinued. I wish I had bought one last pair. Many sources are alleging that the Supernova Adapt is the update of the Classic. It got a good review by Runner's World this summer. Haven't tried it yet though...
Did you find any that satisfied?
I agree with the person that said there is no shoe similar to the classic. It was unique. I would go with Saucony Guide as far as the fit is concerned.
I too am devastated by the discontinuation. I tried the Adapt, after reading the reviews, and I found the shoe NOTHING like the snova classic. Hard, stiffer, more motion control. I am very disappointed adn I am still trying to find a shoe that feels like the classic!
