avg. speed to first in MLB is 4.2 sec for lefthanded hitter
avg. speed to first in MLB is 4.3 sec for righthand hitter
(timing starts when ball is hit)
I imagine a lot of people can beat prince fielder to first but I would bet that 90-95% of MLB field players can beat you to first if you started in the batter's box and took a swing before running (not saying you have to hit it in play like they do) it's a sprint and an acquired skill. You could not beat Eugenio Velez to first for example. Just could'nt do it.
If you are saying who is faster over 90 ft. in a sprint, my guess is that at least 50% of the players are faster than you and of the 50% that are slower most are pitchers catchers, and first basemen aging in their careers
Average speed for the 60yd is 6.6 in MLB for scouts and keep in mind average rarely gets you to the big leagues. Last, mlb players do'nt run everything out on every play over a season, they are guilty of anticipating a fielder making the play too.
also, keep in mind that youwould have to keep an eye on the ball just in case they throw behind you ;)
so now that you know how fast they are, are you faster???
