How old is Eddy Lee? Is he a senior by now? I know he said he will not stop until he reaches his goal, but I think it will be hard for him if he can't get it done by the end of college. If he actually broke 4:00, that would be an epic letsrun message board moment, almost as big as Big Wave breaking 4:00 for his downhill mile. Is his training good? If he is on a good plan, running 4:04 in March is a good indication he'll get to 3:59 this year. |

The Letsrun message board will shut down when he breaks 4. |

Nice varied schedule, covers most things. Did you make it up yourself? Just don't get hung up on trying to reproduce it perfectly. You don't know how you will feel on each day, and there will be good and bad weeks. Also, don't try for 3 all-out sessions every week. Pick one of them for the key workout; the other two each week, try to run within yourself. Save mental energy for races. |

thanks for your kind advice. i made it myself but i have done quite a lot of reading about the 1500m |

Save not only mental energy, but your physical energy. You state you're 17... you may recover quicker than me, but I would argue you still need to recover. Rest is the best thing you can give your body. These workouts are going to tear you down, which is good. But the rest is where your body will rebuild itself to become stronger. Let it happen. You'll be surprised. Let your body recover. Time is on your side. |

Three things sure in this life: death, taxes and you'll never keep to your planned training schedule. I have nearly 40 years experience of failed running intentions. |

I believe, with all my heart, that eddylee can and will break 4 very soon. the most important part is remembering why he does it, for fun and because he loves it, thats what will carry him through. |

Thanks, Ron and Boingo! Windy conditions up there in SLO, but it was a very satisfying day. The 15 was split into two heats. I had a very clean start, getting good position around the first 200m. Sitting in 4th, the 400 split was 64. Leaders may have been at 63. There is a surge at 450, and I maintain contact with the second group while the lone surger breaks away. On the homestretch of the second lap, I surge up to the leader. At 800, the leader and I hit 208(64,64). I surge past him @ 850 cause I felt the pace slow down a bit. I come through the 1200 in 313(64). At this point, I said, "Ok...sub47 last 300 and you got it." I feel myself change gears on the back stretch, but that damn wind...and/or... my fitness...haha probably fitness...caused that "change of gears" to last maybe 50m. Two Cal Poly guys surged past me at 1275m(Leaf Barnes one of them)...and well...that was the end. 50second last 300m. I could not respond to the surge of the Cal Poly guys...good race fellas. PR in the 800 :-D ... just second time getting under the 2min barrier. HA!! Man, i suck. After breaking in on the back stretch, I took the lead. I pushed the first lap, but I slowed down a bit after seeing the clock @ 350. I came by in 58. My teammate surged past me at 500m, and I go with him(!!!F!!! Why didn't I do this in the 15??!!!) I surged past him @ 650 and took the lead. A Fresno St. runner out sprinted me for the win in the last 15m :( My race @ USC(2weeks ago) was way different: 67,65,64,48=404 How is training going, Boingo and Ron?? Cheers!!! |

Question is, will he stop if he does that? He can do it but better training would be helpful. |
