After 124K (75ish miles?) Jurek is 25 minutes off the leader and in 5th place. There's a very strong field this year, but last year he was never more than a few minutes out of the lead. However, they're only half done.

How does his pace compare to last year’s?

Wow that's great news for Dean K. I understand he's leading this race!
runners who constantly feel the need to mention Deano in relation to ANY ultrarunning topic are the exact same as the dipshits who constantly feel the need to mention Forrest Gump in relation to ANY general running topic.
It's the same phenomenon working in both instances: profound ignorance.
At 148.5K he is now in 3rd place, only 12 min. behind the leader.
Go Scott!!

still in 3rd, but Scott dropped a couple minutes and is 18 back now, still running with Valmir (Badwater CR holder and winner this summer). Averaging just over 9 minute miles... Let's go, Jerker!
@225 km jurek is leading by almost 30 mins.
go jurker!
thanks for the updates
Scott defends and wins again!

congrats, scott
Scott Jurek did it again, finishing first in 23:12:14. Although after Sangas he was part of the leading group, which included former winners like Valmir Nunes, Marcus Thalman and Jens Lucas, he managed to take the lead after Tegea increrasing his distance from the 2nd runner in every check point. Scott Jurek now holds the 5th fastest time from last year and the 6th from this years race, with Yannis Kouros still holding the fastest three.
