Japanese do such a great job of covering races. The lead pack is covered the entire race.

Sorry, mate!
As zatopek pointed out, it's only 7 degrees C; it's about 40 degrees F? It said that's it's the coldest in Fukuoka so far this winter. I'm curious to see how Ghabri and Geb would perform in such old weather...
Funny, I ran a workout today consisting of 200s and 400s, all run in 33 and 72...and I was happy with that. My 400 speed is slower than Geb's marathon pace. What an amazing thing to think about. That is one great thing about running. How many times do you hear fans of other sports remarking, "I could do that." I'm sure the difference is as great for them as well. We can see specifically how great the elites of the sport are.
If I were Geb which unforntunately I am not, I would run as easily as possible for the firstt 35K and then just kick it in and collect my paycheck
Official 5k time 15:44 for 3 rabits, Geb in 4th with the same time; Fujita 15:45, Biwott and last year's winner (can't spell his name!) also 15:45, Suwa 10th 15:45... I don't see Ogata's name but I'll bet he's in the back of the pack. This means he's focused. He's a little guy in blue top and bottom with probably blue gloves as well.
Do you see the American Fernando Cabada anywhere? Appreciate your help.
I like Larry Rawson. He always talks about "just go to the local track and try to run one lap in such and such time. That's how fast these guys are running..." Try to appreciate what these guys are doing a little more. By the way, yours is still much faster than what I can do right now!
How about Aish?
No. So far it only listed top 10 at 5k.
I will look for him. The lead pack is very big so it is hard to see. What does he look like?
Hispanic, good looking,Reebok yellow/gray uniform
Going into 8k mark (which they've already passed...), the wind is now on their back. Between 5 and 10k is 15:12. Apparently Geb is wearing something on his calves to keep them warm???
All 3 main Japanese are there: Suwa, Ogata and Fujita.
I don't think he is in the lead pack.
15K 45:55
Thanks for the updates. God I Love This.
I blew up the image of the start at asahi.com. It looks like Cabada is #54 or #56??? Short dark hair...
Cool - playing smart as well.
The pack is definately picking up the pace then...
I don't want this to sound petty, but 7C is about 44-45F, so is it a bit warmer? What are the leg warmers of Geb's about and how does he get rid of them if/when he wants to or is sweating?
Any sign of Aish in the lead group?
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year

Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
