I'm 18 years old, I've been running since I was 14 in cross country and track. I've done plenty of road races from 5k - half marathon.
I've run some pretty good times (16:16, 33:42, and 1:12:39 for a half) which seem to get better as the race gets longer, my coach has said after I graduate, "if I were you I'd skip out on the college running and train for a marathon, that's where your potential is."
My best mile is 4:37 and that was run in XC practice last year and probably wont be improved much this year.
So, when is it to early to run a marathon (ultimate goal - Boston, Olympic Trials) and will starting too early slow me down for later?
