Faith Kipyegon ran 8:07.04 in Silesia, the second-fastest 3,000m ever and less than a second from Wang Junxia’s record. “I am very satisfied,” she said.

Hodgkinson just missed her pb by running 1:54.74 in her first race in 12 months, Faith Kipyegon Kipyegon came just shy of the 8:06.11 WR in the 3000, Kishane Thompson beat Noah Lyles, 9.87 to 9.90, while Masai Russell (12.19) and Karsten Warholm (46.28) set DL records in the 100H/400H.

Olympic silver medallist Jess Hull pacing Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon’s assault on 32-year-old 3000m world record in Silesia
In May, Hull offered her services as a pacer to Kipyegon in an interview with LetsRun.com. Kipyegon took her up on the offer and will try to break Wang Junxia's 32-year-old world record of 8:06.11 when the Diamond League resumes on Saturday in Poland.

Beatrice Chebet (13:58.06) & Faith Kipyegon (3:48.68) Amaze With World Records at 2025 Pre Classic
For the first time in 32 years, two outdoor women's distance world records on the track fell on the same day. Chebet is the first woman under 14:00 for 5000m on the track while Kipyegon broke the 1500 record for the third time.

Kipyegon gave it a go but after hitting 1200 in 3:01.84 (4:03.82 mile pace), she faded to a 63-second last lap.
