We're getting started on our end-of-year coverage and will be handing out some awards. We haven't settled on all the categories yet and wanted to throw it open to you for nominations.
What was your race of the year? Favorite moment of the year? Anything else that stands out to you as particularly memorable and worthy of recognition?

Unlike, WA we have decided we are going to hand out an AOY award to one 1 man and 1 woman. Here our our finalists. We want your vote:
So many things to mention. Here are just some of them:
1. All of the Brojos spelling mistakes. It seems like this was a well above average year. 2. The mods, doings GODs work and deleting whatever they thought needs deletions.
3. Cookie deleting tool which makes all the awesome content creation possible here. 4. Valencia Marathon was my favorite race to watch this year. (Gault was even mention by the commentators.) 5. An enormous amount of great content from our most favorite posters which unfortunately can't be named here. A big thank you to all of you. You know who you are.
6. And a big thank you to all the average Joe's here to commented as well.

Best race of the year was Femke Bol's final leg on the 4x400 at Worlds. What a way to close out the WC meet.
Runner of the year was Faith Kipyegon. Three world records in only 50 days - June 2: 1500m, June 9: 5000m, July 21: mile. Absolutely obliterated Hassan's mile record of 4:12.33 with a 4:07.64. Almost Bob Beamon-like performance.
Newcomer of the year was easily Addy Wiley. Best season by a collegiate runner since Vicki Huber in 1988. Only 2nd American to ever run sub-4:00/sub-1:58 in a career (3rd youngest ever to do it), #10 all-time US 1500m, #11 all-time US 800m, collegiate record in 1500, etc. List of accomplishments in 2023 is far too long to mention. All as a 19-year-old.
I loved Hassan's completely clueless moment at London when she double-backed across the road to get her water bottle at 40K and came back to win convincingly.

Race of the year: Josh beating Jakob at Worlds 2023
Favorite moment of the year: Josh in pure delirium or ecstasy after beating Jakob. Note there were also scenes of delirium and ecstasy from the women's victors in the women's distance events but because I'm first a macho male man I find the male version of delirium or ecstasy incomparable to the women's! Basically, for me, there is nothing more worthy and satisfying to see than a male athlete or warrior swagger and swank his feathers for us all to see.
Particularly memorable: Gjert disciplining Jakob and the brothers with the rod when they were younger and the brothers publicly admitting so to many unsurprised observers.
Worthy of recognition: Those that run for human rights causes or to raise money for charity to fight injustice

Look, I'm not trying to be self-absorbed or conceited here but I do believe I fulfil the requirements for being best in the first 2 categories you have here.
