We thought Mu's 2023 season was over but she is entered at Pre, which would be her first Diamond League since June 2022.

After Mu took the race out in 56.01, Moraa hung onto her most of the way until pulling away midway down the home straight to win in 1:56.03.

For the first time as a pro, Athing Mu didn't cross the finish line first in an 800 tonight but she still impressed us greatly. All 3 Americans will be in the final as well Moraa, Hodgkinson and Reekie.

Mu won her 800 heat in 1:59.59 while Sha'Carri Richardson led all 200m qualifiers in 22.16.

Mu is in Budapest and it looks like she will run Worlds, while Fred Kerley and Noah Lyles are feeling confident ahead of the 100 meters.

The women's 800 is once again incredibly deep while the women's 1500 features a number of women in the midst of career years.

Mu said that modeling has excited her since she was young: "I make jokes all the time about me retiring within the next two years and just going to walk the runway."
