In sprints I was marginally fast, but always the most flexible, by far.
And I was injured all the time, but it was never tendon injuries, the injuries were always muscular—but always from overtraining, never from ROM or form problems.
The preponderance of evidence supports the idea that stretching may be good, bad, or neutral for running success. I seem to run faster and more comfortably after warming up and stretching, with fewer injuries, which seems consistent with the science of stretching being pretty good for people who like it.
Great news. I am arguably the least flexible person on the planet and always felt like stretching and flexibility were way overrated. Just run man, just run.
