Keep us updated! MIT starts 10/30 to rebuild our base :)

Working 3 jobs to help pay bills, very tiring but I still plan on trying to keep high mileage in an attempt to stay consistent. Coach will have me try to break 1:20 in the half at USATFHM Champs. Currently in the sub-elite category. Maybe some day I can run the elite field with him.

Return to some HM workouts. Tried weight lifting, my legs are sort of feeling too sore to make it worth while. Maybe I'll drop it, idk.
This week was weather hell for me. Cold and rain, my body shut down very hard. I physically don't do well in the cold and my central nervous system declines.
Provided bagels on Sunday to a friend training for an Ironman, wanted to run miles with him but it was a little too cold for much more than I can handle.

I wanted to reflect on this training log since I started it here. I started first seriously running for the Columbus marathon. I don’t remember where that thread is, but from writing nearly 1.5 years ago to now has been a huge motivator to stay consistent and make many friends along the way.
Since starting this on 05/01/2020 I have dropped my marathon time to 2:47, my half marathon time to 1:17, and ran 100 mile weeks and went from trying my first all out mile to helping pace a 100 miler. I’ve gotten my first real job, survived Covid 19, gotten my masters, and somehow held a relationship for a while while doing it.
I hope this log can be of some use to people who maybe were as lost as me when first running and doing too much, killing yourself, and sacrificing everything when you don’t need to.
This log has taught me that it takes lots of time, consistency, and true love for life and what you do every day. To my future self and everyone else reading this on page 9. I hope the year 2021 is as spectacular as mine was.
No more races for the year, I’ll be posting minimal weekly updates and seeing family and finishing some other life goals while running. I hope to see you all at NYC in March and Boston in April. Pancakes on me
Beautiful writing man! Keep the good work!
I had no idea you went through all of that. I hope your relationship works out too; maybe get your significant other into running too! Your logs helped me through the '21 season. I see a bright future ahead for you! You and beersandmiles could be OT qualifiers someday, seriously!
“For a while while” :( no more sadly man. But thank you both for the encouraging words. Merry Christmas or happy holidays
See ya in a couple months man. Ope!
In a couple of weeks brotha!
Ope
