That’s my point- isolating healthy people does damage. The true solution, like any flu, is herd immunity

Where are you guys gonna pivot now that the death toll from COVID-19 in the last month and a half is about to pass the flu death toll for the whole flu season? What's the next goalpost shift? Excited to find out.

It’s isn’t though
The flu figures are deaths FROM flu
The Covid 19 deaths are figures WITH Covid 19
To get comparable figures you need to divide the Covid 19 deaths by a factor between 3 and 10
No pivot required from me. I said all along that numbers would be about the same as flu when experts said 2.5 million deaths. Pretty simple.

People are going to lose their minds when they learn about the actual deaths ‘from’ the flu

I now believe social distancing may have made it worse. Symptomatic people, who are all or mostly responsible for transmission. have been isolated with non-infected people. They should have been isolated from everyone else.
The situation is changing rapidly. No one knows too much about this particular virus. There are lies spread by the media and politicians plus we live in an oppressive social world, i.e., governments, and elites, so the situation may or may not be at all what you or anyone thinks. Personally I believe since this is a coronavirus it will act accordingly and go away within the next two weeks.
I agree with this to a certain extent. I don’t think social distance has done much of anything, good or bad, for most of suburban and rural American.
However, for vulnerable populations, like those in poverty in homeless shelters or multigenerational families living in tiny apartments in Queens where one of them is an essential worker getting exposed and coming home everyday, and those confined in nursing homes, social distancing has been a truly harmful horrible thing.
And the data clearly shows the majority of deaths coming from low income population dense areas and/or nursing homes.
You realize they would have come in contact with their families either way? Also, the problem for low income/nursing home residents is that it may be nearly impossible for them to socially distance on their own.

The flu was at about 24,000 since October 2019.
COVID-19 is gonna pass that figure this week and it only took a month an a half.
Sure doesn't seem the same but I'm no statistician.

"according to the CDC's National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), "influenza and pneumonia" took 62 034 lives in 2001—61 777 of which were attributed to pneumonia and 257 to flu, and in only 18 cases was flu virus positively identified."
https://aspe.hhs.gov/cdc-%E2%80%94-influenza-deaths-request-correction-rfcPeople are using two different universes of standards for counting flu vs coronavirus in order to support a nonsensical argument that coronavirus is the one 'over-reported' cause of death.
No. It is incorrect.
Scenario A demonstrates the effect the fearmongers had on you. 5 people get infected and they all die ? You were one of Fauci's useful idiots.
Scenario B. Those 5 people did nothing else for 14 days ? All they did was go home and wait for the rescheduled conference ?
Millions of people with these types of bizarre thought processes led to society wide economic devastation and mental instability. Never again.
