Bernie was Trump's best hope...Now he has to hope for a complete economic turnaround.
How you figure?
There are way more hardcore Bernie voters than Biden ones. They will write him in on principal, which effectively will be a vote for Trump.
He doesn’t has to hope for an economic turnaround, this whole “pandemic” nonsense was designed so there would be an economic turnaround in the months leading up to the election.
Democrats screwed the pooch by continually looking at septuagenarians as candidates. It’s been proven that to energize your base, you need youth:
Winners:
Obama - 47 when elected
Clinton - 46 when elected
Carter - 52 when elected
JFK - 43 when elected
Losers:
Clinton - 69 when lost
Kerry - 60 when lost
Gore - let’s be honest, shoulda won
1. There are more hardcore Sanders supporters. But voters? Young people dont vote. There are more centrist, moderate Democrats than leftist Democrats. I hope Sanders supporters do vote Biden because Trump needs to go.
2. Designed? IDK how you mean it but watch it, people will read into that. If you mean that a potential Covid-19 recovery in fall could play into Trumps hands...maybe, but weighed against potential 100,000 dead post-"covid is hoax" comments, might be a wash.
3. It isn't about POTUS age in a vaccuum. Its about state of country, Obama, B. Clinton had advantage of 8, 12 years of GOP, economic issues going into election. Carter had economic issues under Ford, WaterGate. JFK, Gore were both young. JFK won, Gore lost razor thin margins.
