Can someone explain to me how if there is a shortage of tests that a tiger in the Bronx zoo got one?

you only get a test if you're privileged enough. in this case someone has deemed the tiger as being much more privileged than others.
Pretty big implications here. No?
Think about it.

give me a hint. i don't understand the point you're trying to get across
Tests for animals can only go to the labs of veterinarians to get tested. Their blood can't be tested by human test labs, and vice versa. So their tests will not interrupt the testing process that is being conducted for humans.
Good lord.

Sounds like the vets should be testing humans too given our abysmal testing numbers.
I blame that Carole Baskin, she dont any cats to be in zoos so she out here given them that terrible Chinese virus.

Perhaps the tiger is a super-spreader?
Givin it to the vets / zookeepers.

I would social distance a tiger.

This is a pandemic of the highest order sir, of such a scale that even respected dr. Drew was heard recanting his previous denials. Hordes of people are dropping in the streets our hospitals are swarmed plastic gloves are in short supply we cannot waste valuable resources on domesticated pussies

Whoever thought this was a newsworthy piece of info should be fired on the spot. What nonsense. Thousands of people are seriously ill and some nimwit writes an article about a freaking Tiger?? WHO. CARES.
Journalists are a disgrace
At least they are expected to recover thank goodness, surprised Zoos were still open to begin with
Surely this is newsworthy, because it reiterates that Covid can jump from species to species.
As well as socially isolating from humans if infected, presumably we should be avoiding all animals also.

Two dogs and one cat tested positive in Hong Kong. One of the dogs later died. Of course, the virus came from bats too. There was likely an intermediate species between bats and humans, speculated to be pangolins or snakes, but not known.

the zoo was not open it was an asymptomatic worker that gave the virus to the cats
I wonder how many dogs and cats get infected by their owners and vice versa. Is it possible?

Voila.... and so it starts
I'll take care of that with some sardine oil

People can't give it to animals and animals can't give it to humans. So they say.
Despite the virus coming from animals and apparently being transferred to other animals by humans.
