She dropped after 100 miles
Wonder why, she did 289 miles at this event a few years ago
Injury maybe?

Also, she has a choice here as to terrain, and trail runners are certainly used to running alone.
Case in point - she stopped at 100 miles and looking good. Maggie stopped at ~50 miles. It's hard to know just how seriously anyone is taking it - and it's not an honest race given the various variables each runner has, but 36+ hours should make it compelling in our current dearth of racing, and it's exposing other people to the Backyard (Last Man Standing) concept, which is nice.
Unlikely - this was a last minute race addition for most people and a casual 100 miles is very different than a commitment for many more others of sleep deprivation and miles. Courtney has also made a concerted effort to race less and take care of her body more, in the last year or two after some serial racing landed her injured. Neither race has officially announced cancellations, so for now she is still planning on Hardrock and UTMB, so assume she'd like to get back to training for that - a casual 100 over 24 hours is a nice change in stimulus, but it's not quite specific training for 100 milers with significant vertical gain / loss.
Maggie mentioned back issues when she dropped.
I guess some are taking this more serious than others.
My favorites as always Greg Armstrong and Bob Hearn.
There is no way that Hardrock or UMTB will take place this year.
Anyone have link that works? The old one is just a replay.
Nevermind, found it

It needs to be something more like 10K per hour, or 12K per hour. The fact that this will go on for days is insane, and irresponsible given that some grocery stores are having trouble keeping some items in stock.
This is so American it's ridiculous.
NASCAR: Electronic racing now.
Cycling: Electronic racing now.
Running: They Shoot Horses, Don't They?
What does a virtual race have to do with grocery stock? Please grow up?

Now the warm up phase is over. The mental weak are weeded out.
Now the race is about to begin.
A few bailing out now...
noted you just disagreed with facts without any reason and got it wrong.
I will read your other posts in the same light.
Matt Shepherd is amazing, he is essentially running around a table or three.
Can I watch this on Zoom somehow? When I click on the YouTube link I don’t hear any sound.
Dave Proctor out. Hip Flexor.
rojo, its all a bit weird. the zoom feed only really gives sounds at 5 mins to the hour, sometimes there is commentary from the runners, but they are, erm, running.
i would email the organizers.

This was to be expected. He has not the toughness of an Al Howie.
18 left, so now at least they’ll all fit on one screen!
