Not to mention all the countries that still have snow outside. They can't put all their athletes at training camps in other countries for 4 months leading up to it

There's no good solution. This is why the Olympics should just be canceled, not postponed. Yes, it would stink for athletes like Seidel, but doing anything else would be equally unfair to the athletes whose championships are pushed off the calendar by the timing of the rescheduled Olympics, whenever it might be.

Are you joking?
You think track athletes will be upset that the 2021 Worlds is postponed to 2022 (or 2023) so they can run in the Olympics 2021? Everyone would rather run in the Olympics than some random championship.
Not talking just about track athletes here. Postpone the Olympics, and whatever else is happening in the sports world at the time you postpone it to will also have to be postponed or canceled. Rescheduling the Olympics would cause a huge ripple effect that would inconvenience way more athletes and fans than the number actually involved in the Olympics. For example, if the Olympics are in June 2021, NBA finals are disrupted. If they're in September/October, NFL seasons and baseball season and playoffs are disrupted. Etc.
It's better to just cancel one event and let all the others be, than to reschedule one event and then also have to reschedule everything else.

Do you have any idea how much money Japan has invested into these Olympic Games? Cancelling them forever is simply not an option.

Who cares
This would be a great opportunity to fix the bloated Olympics problem of too many "sports" that bankrupt cities that insist on holding them. How about cutting back the Olympics to just track and field every four years, held in Greece.? All other sports can hold their own yearly world championships whenever and wherever they want.

Now there's an idea. Cut the Olympics down to manageable size and eliminate the silly sports. Other sports that should still be allowed include wrestling, swimming (freestyle only; we don't have the 100m high-knee dash in track), rowing, probably a few others. No equestrian, skateboarding, or other silly non-sports.
